Rwanda Kawa Yacu – MEDIUM ROAST

This beautiful coffee comes to us from the Mbizi Washing Station, Karongi District of Western Rwanda, right up against the shores of Lake Kivu. The WCE, or Women’s Coffee Extension, was founded in 2017 with the sole purpose of educating and empowering it’s 700 female coffee producing members. It offers support of members through initiatives like family planning, nutrition programs, and good agricultural practices. The coffee these women produced is very well sorted, and in the cup it’s incredibly complex and sweet. We tasted cinnamon right off the bat, followed by a tingly, effervescent mouthfeel! The women of this cooperative should be proud of this amazing coffee!
