Ethiopia Haile Organic – LIGHT ROAST

Haile Gebrselassie is a sport hero and legend in Ethiopia. He is a two time Olympic gold medal winner in the 10,000 meter race, a four time World Champion, and during his illustrious career he broke 27 world records in long distance running!  In 2014 the Ethiopian government gifted Haile 1500 hectares of land bordering Sheka forest, a UNESCO-designated Biosphere Reserve. He began planting coffee in the high elevations of his new farm (Yeppo village), and now produces certified organic and Rainforest Alliance coffees, along with spices and honey.  His influence in Yeppo village reaches far on the socio-economic spectrum, including teaching neighboring coffee farmers efficient agronomy practices. This not only helps to increase yield, but also cup quality, and visibility to buyers willing to pay more for their harvest.
